The farmhouse is situated amongst the vines on the Dordogne/Gironde border -this area is beautiful and tranquil, giving you the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind.With very little traffic, it is also fantastic if you enjoy bike riding and walking (bikes provided). Local shops and supermarkets are conveniently located just a few minutes away. There are many excellent restaurants in the area for you to enjoy, all within easy reach, with directions included in the farmhouse guide. You can also venture out and experience all that the region has to offer, from the superb local markets to the historic buildings, the scenic countryside and wild life, the world famous chateaux, wines and vineyards. The farmhouse is located in its own grounds, with its own private terrace and has outstanding views of the surrounding countryside. There is also a large 11m x 5m swimming pool (from end May to September) for your use, with sun loungers and pool towels provided.

The kitchen has fitted units and is fully equipped including dishwasher, induction hob, oven, microwave, larder fridge with deep freeze compartment and all kitchen utensils. A large table with chairs for 10 people.
The utility room has all that you need to be home from home - washing machine, vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board ..... everything necessary for your convenience.
In the bright living room area, there is a comfortable sofa, chairs, colour TV with Satellite UK & French (Free view channels), DVD player and iPod speakers. Wi-fi internet access.
Electricity and water are included in the price together with all bed linen and towels. Pool towels are also provided at no extra cost

The farmhouse has a small covered terrace and parking area. There is a barbecue at the disposal of guests. The 11 x 5m private heated swimming pool is 1.5m deep and has a paved surround with a large terrace. There are loungers and sun umbrellas and plenty of shaded areas to sit outside and take in the views.

Saturdays -All guests asked to arrive after 4 pm and to depart by 10 am. During low seasons: flexible days and times.
Initial enquiries by email/telephone with the owner. Booking form and booking conditions will then be sent to you. Returned, signed booking form and 25% deposit confirms your booking. Full balance to be paid 6 weeks before your stay with us. A security deposit of €500 will be required prior to arrival.

Lac de Gurson - 25km - swimming lake with beach area, restaurants and bars- 30 minute drive.
Arcachon - 160km - large beach and dune complex o the Atlantic Coast -around 2 hours drive.
11 km (less than 15 mins) Chateau de Vigiers - 18 holes course and new 9 hole course.

Airports: Bergerac - 23km, approx 25 mins drive, Bordeaux - 92 km, approx 1hr 30 mins. Car hire is available at both airports and locally and is recommended.
Calais - 8.5hrs.
Cherbourg - 7.5hrs.
Caen - 6.5hrs.
Ste Foy la Grande – 2.5km approx 5 mins drive, Bergerac - 20km approx 20 mins drive, Bordeaux - 105km approx 1 hr 20 mins drive, St Emilion - 40km approx 40 mins drive, Sarlat - 97km approx 1 hr 30 mins drive
The Pays Foyen provides a wonderful combination of gentle countryside, picturesque towns and villages, fine wine and gourmet food. St Emilion and the many vineyards of the region are a must for those who wish to sample and perhaps take home some very fine wines. The Lac de Gurson is one of several nearby lakes offering a beach, children’s play area, nature trail, restaurant and snacks, a good day out. Activities nearby include horse riding, bike riding, kayaking, fishing and a restaurant. The climate - being right down in the South-West of France, the sun is much higher in the sky all year round. We get lots of sunshine throughout the year, and just enough rain to keep the garden lush and pleasant. Spring comes early and temperatures can be in the 20's from March onwards, peaking at 36 last August, when, thankfully, the pool will keep you cool. Autumn, which is beautiful, can stay warm in the day, but with cooler nights. We aim to provide a relaxing environment in which you can unwind and have a quality holiday.
About the Owner
Les Richards has been in our family for many generations. In 2013 Isabelle took on the baton and breathed fresh life into this wonderful stone farmhouse. The last 12 months has seen the complete renovation of the property and whilst retaining many original features Isabelle has created a bright airy contemporary feel.

What are the unique benefits of the property?
Although the farmhouse is located in a rural area, all amenities are very close to hand. The local village has a restaurant, bakery, post office and a large wine co-operative. The market town of Ste Foy le Grande is only five minutes away with all major supermarkets and commerce. The farmhouse benefits from lovely views and is the perfect place to come and unwind.
